Armada MicroHangars
Wave 3 MicroHangar/GearBox combos.
My dear Armada fans, I’ve finally started work on Armada again. For starters I’ve updated the MicroHangars to v3.0, they now include the flotillas from wave 3 ships. Sadly you’ll have to wait a little while longer for wave 4, it’s not yet available here in germany.
The hangars for the flotillas are a MicroHangar/Gearbox combo, meaning you should put the whole thing (ships on stand) into the hangar, along with all stuff from the GearBox. I thought this made sense, since a MicroHangar for the two little ships would really deserve the term “micro” and the little pins on the underside are quite fragile, so leaving them in place seems reasonable. Take a look at the pictures underneath to see how everything fits nicely, even without the dials flying around and possibly damaging ships with alternative paint schemes. If you like a MicroHangar/GearBox combo better or want to have a separate GearBox anyway please let me know, I’ll see what I can do!

Thank you so much for these! I spent a few days a little while ago making all the boxes from waves 1 and 2, and was really pleased to drop in and see this. Looking forward to Wave 4!

Thanks for all your hard work on this! I really like the ship models staying with the bases for these smaller models. Would love to see the same with the corvettes and smaller frigates!

Since you asked, I’m one of those who actually would really like a MicroHangar for just the flotilla ships, no matter how “micro” it is. I like/need to combine everything into as small a space as possible, and since I already have space set aside for 7 or so small bases, carrying around four more attached to four flotillas is less than ideal for me.
I realize that I might be the only person on the planet who wants these, but hey, if you get bored in a few months and are itching to make a new box, remember me 😉

I like these but would actually prefer a smaller option as I keep all of my bases and cardboard bases in a centralized location. Either something that holds just the models together or something that holds them when on the stand but without the extra space for bases and dials.

Hey there, really love your work. It’s been a lot of work assembling all the boxes but I’d rather spend my time than my money just now and having my squadrons jumbled together in bags just wasn’t satisfactory anymore. Anyway I just wondered if you had plans to make hangars/gear boxes for the Mandalorian Gauntlet Fighter/Gar Saxon, the MC75 / Profundity, and the upcoming Executor (guessing just a gear box?)? Thanks again though! One suggestion I would have would be a way to integrate the plastic molds that come with each ship into the hangar boxes to keep them more stable in transit.

The Executor could get a GearBox, a hangar would be ridiculous, I think. I even won’t be buying this monster, simply to expensive for my budget.
Sorry about the plastic molds, but I don’t have any intention of adding this uglies to my nice little boxes, this would make several boxes significantly larger and I have neither the time or the desire to redesign everything again. Really sorry 🙁
