Armada: New tuckboxes!

February 24, 2018 By SirWillibald 9 Comments

Armada_TuckboxCollection_INFO_08

Some of the new tuckboxes.

Ok, this has been requested for quite some time, I finally managed to update the TuckboxCollection for Armada!

You’ll find size 1 to 3 boxes for everything (squads, ships and objectives/reference/stations) inside a new single file, hope that’s OK.

New MicroHangars and GearBoxes for wave 7 will be added, as well, I’m just waiting for my ships…

Happy crafting,
SirWilli

Armada wave 6 and new ComboHangars!

September 15, 2017 By SirWillibald 25 Comments

Hello my dear Armada fans,

it’s been a while, I know, but I haven’t forgot about you. I hope it was worth waiting, as of now you can download a bunch of new stuff!

MicroHangars & GearBoxes Wave 6

Wave 6 MicroHangars and GearBoxes.

Two new MicroHangars for both wave 6 ships can be found in the download section. If you don’t like to build two tiny hangars for your Hammerheads, scroll down a bit to read about the ComboHangar alternative. The hangar for the Quasar Class has an optional docking clamp, that prevents the ship from rattling in the box. Omit it, if you don’t mind this.

Open Quasar Class MicroHangar.

The two new GearBoxes are standard stuff, since each Hammerhead expansion comes with two ships, I’ve already placed two of them on the print sheet. Figured it makes sense. You don’t have to build the GearBoxes for the Hammerhead if you’re using the ComboHangar instead of the MicroHangar, see below.

ComboHangars

New ComboHangars lined up.

Promised long ago, I’ve finally added ComboHangars for all ships on poles (CR90, Nebulon-B, Imperial Raider and the new Hammerhead). So far only the two flotillas received such boxes, here’s the rest! The ComboHangars have more than enough room for all corresponding GearBox stuff, therefore you won’t need to build additional GearBoxes. There’s no separate download, you’ll find them within the MicroHangar files!

Inside the ComboHangar (without GearBox stuff).

The ComboHangars aren’t exactly the same size, I’ve measured each of them individually to give the ships a good fit and not too much room to rattle around. You have to put the ship inside the ComboHangar at a slight angle, this is on purpose and prevents rattling, too.

Armada localization

If you haven’t noticed yet, there’s a new Localization section at the top, where you can find links to a growing collection of my master language files. If you like to have a localized version of my Armada stuff, I’ve added a link to the Armada excel there. Further infos to be found on the page and within the language file. Feel free to assist in translating some of my stuff. For now only the MicroHangars and GearBoxes are available for translation (preparing the files and the workflow is somewhat tedious).

That’s it, hope you like it, have fun, and remember that you can simply download the “… add” file to get only the new stuff,
SirWilli

Armada Corellian Conflict SquadHangars.

March 27, 2017 By SirWillibald 2 Comments

It’s running quite smooth…

Got some helpful feedback concerning the new squadron cards from Corellian Conflict. Even though they don’t come with actual models, you convinced me that standard SquadHangars are the best option to offer. And since I was working on the SquadHangars just before I figured it wouldn’t be too much effort to add those, as well.

Head over to the Armada download section, there are two new files (didn’t want to increase the file size even further) for the Corellian Conflict SquadHangars!

Have fun and let me know if you encounter any problems or mistakes!

Cheers,
SirWilli

Armada Wave 5 SquadronHangars.

March 27, 2017 By SirWillibald 9 Comments

That was fast!

I needed a distraction and finished the new SquadronHangars! You won’t get an actual photo, I haven’t build any of them yet, because I don’t own the squads yet. Therefore be warned that none of them are actually tested, but I got word from other Armada fans that all new squads fit into the standard SquadHangar, besides the Lambda Shuttle. Therefore I’ve added an optional bigger version for this vessel, pick whichever you like better! If you use the smaller one you have to detach the ship from the base, of course.

As a little extra I’ve changed all hangar outlines, they now come with trapezoid shaped glue flaps.

Please let me know if there are any problems (more squadrons too big, mistakes, whatever).

EDIT: The SquadHangars for Corellian Conflict are not yet ready, I still haven’t figured out how to treat those, since they come without actual models, if I understood it correctly. Waiting for my shipment.

Cheers,
SirWilli

Armada Wave 5 MicroHangars.

March 26, 2017 By SirWillibald Leave a Comment

Hey Armada fans,

Armada wave 5 MicroHangars.

thank you for being patient, the X-Wing wave 10 update was quite time consuming.

But rejoice, the MicroHangars for the two wave 5 ships are done and ready to download. Pretty straightforward (even though I needed about 4 or 5 prototypes because… reasons…), the Phoenix Home is supposed the be put into the hangar at a very slight angle. But depending on how accurate you cut and glue this might not even be necessary, it’s really not that much.

I had some problems with the name for the Phoenix Home hangar, because “Phoenix Home” is a title rather than a ship type. But this approach already resulted in two hangars featuring the same title (Home One and Liberty, both being MC80 Cruisers). And “Phoenix Home” looked way cooler than “Modified Pelta Class blablabla”. I asked your opinion on Facebook and in the end I decided to go with “Pelta Class, Phoenix Home”. Omitting the ship type completely just seemed wrong and would have meant to change the two MC80 hangar titles to “Home One” and “Liberty”, which I didn’t like. Instead I changed the two of them accordingly and they now read “MC80, Home One” and “MC80, Liberty”. This way everything is rather consistent, the boxes read the ship type, with the exception of Home One and Liberty (because both have the same type) and Phoenix Home (because it’s not an actual Pelta Class vessel, but a modified one). Hope you’re OK with this.

Open Hangars.

Oh, and the GearBoxes are ready, as well! And as stated in the last X-Wing update, the download titles and file names no longer feature the version number, you will only find them on the cover page from each PDF. I hope this minor inconvenience doesn’t bother you, since it allows me to update those files far more easy and faster.

I know, the squadrons are still missing, and I won’t tell you something like “Oh no, I can’t build them without actually having the squads in my hand!”, because in this case this isn’t true. The truth is, the process of making the SquadHangars is really time consuming and the main thing I remember from last time is how relieved I was when they were done… But I’ll see to it ASAP but please be patient again, some real life issues require my attention.

Happy crafting,
SirWilli

Armada Wave 4 MicroHangars ready!

December 31, 2016 By SirWillibald 8 Comments

Hi everybody!

Wave 4 hangars.

As promised, I got a big bunch of new stuff just before christmas but it took me a few days to find enough time to make new stuff. I started with the Armada MicroHangars for the Liberty and Interdictor expansion. Here’s a preview picture, you’ll find some additional info on the corresponding page (there’s a new “wave 4” tab). I’ve not only added the new hangars to the existing files but also added a “v4.0add” file, which contains only those two new hangars.

Happy crafting, new X-Wing hangars will follow (hopefully) in short time,
SirWilli

EDIT: Forgot the GearBoxes, sorry, updated those, as well!

EVEN NEWER EDIT: Upgraded the Upgrade Cards boxes to v2.0, they now include the three new categories. And the german dividers have been added, as well.

Small Armada update.

December 15, 2016 By SirWillibald 8 Comments

Hi there,

Three new dividers for upgrade cards.

you asked for additional dividers for the Armada CollectorBox, since there are three new upgrade categories by now. Here they come, for now only in english, the german version hasn’t been released yet, will add it as soon as I have the ships and the official translation from the rulebook.

More CollectorBox stuff incoming…

I’m busy working on a redesing of the CollectorBoxes, I plan to make a whole system for different needs (small cards like upgrades, big cards like ship/pilot cards, dials, maybe even X-Wing bases and ship tokens). Biggest change will probably be that those new boxes involve the use of foamboard, simply because the prototype for the bigger cards didn’t turn out very sturdy when made purely out of cardstock. And building all those 5mm walls out of paper is painful.

Here’s a preview of a blank CollectorBox for X-wing Pilot Cards, judge for yourself:

Closed CollectorBox.

Flipping through the pilots.

The complete box is build out of foamboard, but covered with cardstock, plain white. For now. The only visible part of the foamcore can be found within the lid. Stay tuned for further updates!

Happy crafting,
SirWilli

Next update…

Armada again

Sorry for the slow pace, but as stated before, my analog life has been and is keeping my quite busy.

Nevertheless I finally found some time to add a new tuckbox version for Ship Cards and for Squadron Cards, both of them now include wave 4 and 5 listings on the back. They have been added quite a while ago, I simply forgot to tell you. Sorry.

2016-11-17-16-31-25

Prototype of the Flotilla MicroHangar for ships on stand.

Furthermore I’ve got quite a few inquiries about adding separate GearBoxes and MicroHangars for the Flotillas. Here they come! I decided not to build a hangar for two tiny flotillas on its own, since the little plastic pin will most likely break apart when you try to detach the ships from their stand. And the hangar would have been ridiculously small anyway. Therefore I’ve designed a hangar that holds both flotilla ships on its stand. The rest of the stuff got its own GearBox. Sorry, no photo, simply because I haven’t actually built it yet. But it’s the same size as before, so it should fit perfectly!

Let me know if I messed up anything, stay tuned for wave 4 hangars, the ships are about to be released in germany…

If you want to head straight to the download section, there you go!

New cover page

Perhaps you’ll notice my completely rebuild cover page for those files, hope you like it (yes, I like that knight a LOT…), it’s now being generated automatically by InDesign and Excel, which spares me some time, editing and adding those pages has been a real pain until now. Believe it or not. I even dropped one or two detailed content listings, simply because they take too much time make. If you don’t like this, feel free to complain!

Happy crafting,
SirWilli.

Armada incoming…

Armada MicroHangars

2016-10-15-12-20-44

Wave 3 MicroHangar/GearBox combos.

My dear Armada fans, I’ve finally started work on Armada again. For starters I’ve updated the MicroHangars to v3.0, they now include the flotillas from wave 3 ships. Sadly you’ll have to wait a little while longer for wave 4, it’s not yet available here in germany.

The hangars for the flotillas are a MicroHangar/Gearbox combo, meaning you should put the whole thing (ships on stand) into the hangar, along with all stuff from the GearBox. I thought this made sense, since a MicroHangar for the two little ships would really deserve the term “micro” and the little pins on the underside are quite fragile, so leaving them in place seems reasonable. Take a look at the pictures underneath to see how everything fits nicely, even without the dials flying around and possibly damaging ships with alternative paint schemes. If you like a MicroHangar/GearBox combo better or want to have a separate GearBox anyway please let me know, I’ll see what I can do!

2016-10-15-12-21-54

Open Assault Carrier hangar.

2016-10-15-12-21-06

Tokens and dials rest underneath the base.

Going to catch up on the various tuckboxes next.

Cheers,
SirWilli
