My dear IA fans, is has been far too long, I’m so sorry. But I’ve finally found some time, go check out the new CollectorBox for small cards in the Imperial Assault section. Hope you like it, and yes, a version for the large cards will follow, as well!
I just created the collector box for the small cards. The bottom is the perfect size. The lid is not. I even reprinted the templates at 100% and the lid is not large enough to fit over the bottom. I figured I would let you know.
Hey Gary, uhh… This doesn’t seem possible, I’ve already built loads of those boxes woth no problem at all. Habe you checken the instructi9n slider for building it?
I had the same problem. Box walls are 4cm wide, Lid walls too. But in page 4 and 5 the lid walls cover are 7cm wide. I don’t know if lip needs foarmcore or only cartoon, but box doesn’t fit in lip.
In 18th instruction slider says; “Finally step, the lid cover.” From what material is done this lid cover? Paperboard? How thick?
Thanks for all.

Hi Sir Willibald,
Finally I understood how to do it. The lid has internal supports that fit with the box. The external images of the cover are wider than those supports to close with themselves and reinforce the walls. I could understand it when seeing the images of the cardboard version.
Thanks for all.

Hello SirWilli,
Thank you for the amazing work you do. I can not wait to see what you have planned for SW Destiny!
I see for SW Imperial Assault under the condition cards you only created a box for 3 of the 6 types. Will a second box catered for the other 3 cards becoming out as well?
man I love your stuff. It’s cheap, it’s great and it’s fun to build (and in fact maybe the best storage solution I have seen). Thanks for all the effort und work. Well done!
I have two small requests and hope you can incorporate these in your next updates:
1. The condition card box is only referring to the conditions of the core set (stun, bleed, focus). It would be great if you could either enlarge the box (quite some effort I thing) to hold five conditions (including weaken and hide) or to simply add a second box with weaken, hide and maybe a random condition that can be used for future conditions that may come along. I would do it by myself but starting from the pdf doesn’t seem to be the best option.
2. Could you add a size 1 tuck box for the agenda cards? I am asking this since I would love to have a place for my chosen agenda sets during a campaign. So I want to keep them separate from the other agenda cards and want to have a pile at hand where the imp can draw his cards from (I am also using the size 1 side mission box for the chosen side missions during a campaign).
I know it’s a request of only one person. That’s why I tried to propose solutions already that should be easy to do – whatever that means since I have no idea how much effort it is – I am a simple mind π
Looking forward to hearing from and it would be awesome if you pick the ideas up.
I love the collector’s box. It’s basic size works for the large cards, too (at least without sleeves – mine are not sleeved so I don’t know if sleeved would fit). Just leave out the middle wall and put the cards in on their side edge instead of bottom edge. I only have about half of the expansions and villains/allies figures, so I don’t know if someone with more would run out of room.
Re: Gary’s lid comment. I think what he means is the lid does not fit down over and around the bottom. i thought the same at first, then realized the top slides over the cards and rests on the walls of the bottom.
Just build the collector’s box and everything worked well. However when it comes to glueing the covers to the box they do not seem to fit.
If I take a ruler the sizes seems odd. They do not fit at all. Or am I missing something?
Oh no…
I just realized, that I used the dashed lines instead of the solid lines! I thought they should show how thick the foam core is and how much space the wall would need when glued. Damn…
Okay, first one was to practise (guess this wasn’t the last try).
I would love an update for the last expansions (heros, imperial decks etc) as well and also for the special boxes with the cards for missing conditions etc.
would be awesome but I know time is always short ;(

The box is NOT supposed to fit into the lid, check the text on my webpage concerning the CollectorBox and the instruction slider with many pictures! π

Hey Thomas,
you may request whatever you like! π
But I’m very short on time at the moment and the only thing I can do right now is put this on my list, sorry…

Hey, hm, I’ve built several of them myself, no problems. Have you checked the instruction slider:

To be found under “Instructions”…
Perhaps this helps?

Just out of curiosity: what are the dashed lines for? Why didn’t you leave them out and just used the solid ones?

Hey there Sir Willi,
Any chance of updating the Star Wars Imperial Assault boxes with the latest editions?
Thank you,

btw, your boxes are awesome!

Thanks, and yes, short time is the main problem here…

Just wanted to say thanks for these, they are great, I made a couple a couple about 18 months ago but forgot to thank you.
I hope you get round to doing the large cards (probably on their sides?) and dividers for the expansions.
I also hope you still play IA!!! π
SirWillibald says
Thanks! I didn’t forget about IA, but it’s in the queue behind X-Wing and Armada. Hobby time is limited
